Weekend Challenge: Do Something Kind for an Elderly Person

Every elderly person is someone’s Grandma or Grandpa. But the elderly don’t always live close to their family, and sadly some elderly are abandoned by their family. This weekend adopt an elderly neighbor as your neighborhood “grandma” or “grandpa” or just do something nice for an elderly person in your community. A friendly smile and hello, helping with groceries, mowing the grass, or taking the time for some pleasant conversation are all simple ways that you can make a difference in the life of an elderly person this weekend.

As I’m preparing for the pending passing of my own grandpa I challenge each of you to spend a little extra time connecting with your grandparents and the elderly in your community.

  2. My grandfather passed away the end of September. Thank you to everyone who participated in this challenge. It was a nice tribute to the memory of a man who was loved so much.
