Whether you’re 5 or 55, you can help the Gulf Oil Spill relief effort.
The oil company may be able to stop the oil spill, but that doesn’t stop the destruction, devastation and damage to the people, land and wildlife that live along the Gulf of Mexico and nearby coastal regions. Fishermen are still without their livelihoods and many businesses have had to close and let employees go.
The beaches, marshes and water are still filled with oil and toxic chemicals and are in need of continued funding for clean up efforts. The air, land, and water have been contaminated by oil and chemicals toxic to humans and animals. The unknown long-term efforts are likely to bring respiratory problems, mystery illnesses, and birth defects. The Gulf needs our continued help to restore and rejuvenate the people, land, and animals of the Gulf of Mexico and southeastern coasts of the United States.
Whether you’re 6 or 66, here’s how you can help. Express your feelings about the Gulf Oil spill through drawings, poems, stories, photos or any other artistic and creative way. Send your artistic expressions of the Gulf Oil Spill to World Barrios by email at HelptheGulf@WorldBarrios.com or through the WorldBarrios.com “Help the Gulf” submission form.
The contributed art, poems, and stories will be compiled together to create an artistic e-book on the effects of the Gulf Oil Spill which will be sold for donations to the Gulf Relief Efforts. All proceeds generated with be donated.
This is not only an opportunity to help the people, land, and animals of the Gulf, it is also a teaching opportunity for your children and students. Help them to learn the importance of helping others in need, taking care of the land we live in, and protecting the animals and wildlife on our planet.
So whether you’re 7 or 77, you can help the Gulf.
